The League encourages the board to direct the architectural firm to old public meetings for information and input. Successful models for this process include FUSD and Ohlone for their bond measures. This public input will complement the ongoing outreach process that the hospital has used to inform and engage the public about what hospital services are currently being offered.
This will also afford all stakeholders, the taxpayers, the employees, the patients and the business community, an opportunity to learn about the plans and to communicate to you their needs and ideas.
According to an Argus article $60 million in bond money has been released for planning and construction of the power plant. Does this trigger the start of the bond oversight committee’s responsibility? If so, how can the public learn of their meeting dates?
In closing, we encourage everyone to attend the League’s candidate forum for Washington Hospital Board candidates at the Comcast Studios, 555 Mowry Ave in Fremont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 12th, tomorrow night. Please check with Comcast for their re-broadcast schedule for this forum.
