Testimony to Fremont Unified School District

| Good evening. I am Marilyn Singer,and I am speaking on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City. The League strongly supports the adoption of curriculum that teaches comprehensive, age appropriate sex education in the junior high schools. Teaching students about HIV/AIDS in not enough. Students deserve factual materials that cover the full range of sexual health. The responsible action for the Board to take is to approve materials that have been studied and recommended by the District’s Health and Sex Education Advisory Committee and the Teachers’ Committee. |
