ELECTION CALENDAR

PRIMARY
|
First Tuesday after the first Monday in March of even numbered
years. Major purposes: to choose party candidates for national and
state offices; to elect delegates to national party conventions; to elect
local candidates to qualified-party central committees; to vote on state
and local measures placed on the ballot by referendum or initiative; to
elect county and judicial officers. If no candidate for a county
or judicial office receives a majority of all votes cast in this election,
a run-off election must occur the following November. |
