• We continued our examination of the quandary of mobile home park owners and the residents with an update on Becaro. Residents have hired an attorney. Since LWV does not have a specific position on mobile home parks our best angle is retention of affordable housing. We have also learned that there are bills being considered in Sacramento to address this issue.
• In Union City the Masonic Home is proposing to build on the flat portion of their land on Mission Blvd. Sets is watching this as it develops.
• The Doublewood Gold Course is now a dead option. It will be interesting to see who will maintain the land that had been set aside for the course.
• The COF is not acting on implementation of affordable housing for the old corporation yard. Instead redevelopment money will be allocated to an area in Irvington to be used by Allied Housing in cooperation with Abode Services.

Our Ohlone observer said that the board needs a reminder about the lack of background material  made available in a timely manner to the public. 

Kay went over the Voting Matters schedule for May, June and July. We need to come up with questions for the June 10th taping on Union City’s Youth Violence Prevention program. Sets is the point person.

Miraim will send out a list of subjects to be interviewed with indications of lead interviewers.

We discovered that we know next to nothing about gray water ordinances that our 3 cities may or may not have. Susan will send us information about gray water bills and Miriam will forward articles about the subject.

We are thinking about taking a tour of affordable housing possibly some time this Summer.
